It is notoriously famous for sucking energy, sunburn, and whatnot. This puts everyone in a dilemma whether to enjoy the moment or worry about the weather and its consequences.

Why do you get sunburnt?

Such as type of skin color, type of sunscreen used, amount of sunscreen applied, the intensity of sunlight, clothes worn, activities engaged while outsides, etc. As we can see, there are a lot of factors to take care of. 1. Apply Sunscreen:

The first tip that anyone gives is to apply sunscreen. It is really important as it protects areas that are difficult to hide with clothes or shade.

There are tons of sunscreen in the market with UV protection, SPF 15, etc. You can consult a doctor and buy the most suitable for your skin.

The next step is to apply the cream properly. A lot of people make mistakes here.

So, here is a proper guide –

  • Don’t apply sunscreen while leaving your house. Instead, apply it once you get to your destination.
  • Properly massage the sunscreen on your skin and repeatedly apply it to your skin after a couple of hours. Or it is of no use.
  • Don’t rely on sunscreen alone; you need other gears to protect your skin.
  • Sunscreen won’t protect you if you are bathing or exercising in the sun.

2. Stay under the shade:

Many people assume that sunscreen and few blockade gears are enough to protect themselves. These people forget that direct sunlight is never good, and shade helps a lot.

We understand the sunbathing and reading a book is an awesome experience, you can’t miss. So, avoid going out between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm on sunny days when the UV radiation is the highest.

Stay under the shade, and make yourself a bit cooler than others.

If you are planning a barbeque Sunday or any other event. It is best to hold it under a canopy or beach umbrella to act as a barrier between you and the sun.

Similarly, if you have to engage in outdoor activities, shift them either in the early morning or late in the evening to avoid the afternoon sun.

3. Dress up for the summer:

Early humans used leaves as a way to protect themselves from nature. Then came along clothes. However, the need to make everything cool; Humans forget the basic need for clothes.

If you are planning a summer day, a Hawaii shirt obviously makes you look dope, but long sleeves tops and lightweight pants are a much better option.

As tight weave fabrics will protect you from sunlight. Also, remember that light color absorbs less heat, so a big no to black.

A lot of people might look at swimsuits and guards and wonder why they don’t follow these rules.

4. Sunglasses and hats are mandatory:

Our eyes are extremely sensitive to UV radiation. So overexposure to sunlight can cause eye damage, cataracts, and even eye cancer.

Hence sunglasses are super important if you want to enjoy your day out. However, there is a catch here.

Not all sunglasses protect you from UV rays. You need to look for 100% UV protection label sunglasses, which also cover the sides of the eyes, such as the wraparound styles.

Cancer is very common in the neck, face, forehead, shoulder, etc. all the areas that can be protected by a hat.

You need to wear a broad-brims hat so that you can engage in your activities without being disturbed by the hat. Remember to apply sunscreen lotion on the area left exposed by the hat.
